About This Hanging

We are a small editorial team based in downtown Kota Kinabalu. This site is our hanging: each guide is a print we pin to the wall once it has been walked, checked and written plainly. Our rooms sit a short walk from Bandaran Berjaya, the waterfront and the market lanes we cover.

What hangs on this wall

The wall focuses on the centre of KK: rooms for places to stay, places to eat, ways to move around, and short itineraries that fit a downtown stay. The Tunku Abdul Rahman islands, the waterfront and the markets hang here too. We keep the city we know best at street level, with the detail that helps a traveller decide where to go next.

Who hangs the prints

A compact team of writers and editors. Some of us grew up here; some arrived for a season and stayed. We all spend time in the neighbourhoods we cover. Drafts are shared, facts checked against local sources, and the language kept plain.

How a print is made

A piece begins with a walk. We note opening hours, prices, routes, and the small things that change a visit: where the shade falls, which stall fills first, when the ferry queue shortens. Photographs are taken where we can. Back in the workroom the piece is drafted in short, clear sentences, then edited for rhythm and usefulness. Each print is dated on the wall and revisited on a schedule. When something shifts in the street, the print comes down, is corrected and rehung.

What travellers will find

Guides to accommodation, food, transport and short stays. Practical notes on the islands and the waterfront. A tone that treats the reader as a friend who wants to enjoy the city without fuss. We write in English, with Malay and local terms where they add colour and precision.
